Final Concept

This is the final concept. They steel tubing frame has a shiney chrome finish on it and the plastic is clear to alow the view to see the A3 poster that will be up and it also gives the effect that the object being exhibited is floating which is unique as you do not see many transparent plinths. The dimensions of the product are (H) 100cm, (W) 40cm and the length from front to back is (W) 50cm. The slots which hold the A3 card in place are two metal strips both with two other aluminium blocks on with chanfered edgeds to give a nice finish and are coated with rubber to ensure extra grip is there so it does not easily slide out or fall out while being moved around or layed down like a table as if it was plastic or metal it would probably fall out.

For my original final concept the fram was all one piece and the plastic was all one piece but upon further research i found out that it would be costing alot more than expected and that it is too large to box and ship, it would also be difficult to transport around and carry. Originally for the frame, fixings, PETG plastic sheet, drape moulding, assembily and shipping/delivery it would cost around £80-£90. Where as when the frame was flatpackable it is easy to box and transport around, for the frame, fixings, 2x sheets of 5mm clear PETG, drape moulding, boxing and shipping/delivery it would cost around £60 which means i would get an extra £20 Profit for each plinth. I would retail the plinth at around £120 to double my money which is what i would want. To ensure the frame stays together there is a metal push clip which you push in when connecting the tubes and when the tubes are fully push together the clip pops through a hole and keeps it in place and to release it you just simply puch the clip in through the hole and pull the frame apart.
